The Links, Incorporated       Memphis, TN Chapter

Welcome to the Memphis Chapter of the Links, Inc.

Welcome to our website. The Links, Incorporated founded in 1946, is one of the oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. Today, the national organization has a membership of nearly 12,000 professional women of color in 270 chapters located in 42 states. We are an organization of accomplished, dedicated women who are active in your communities. The foundation of our organization is built on four areas of focus: National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, Services to Youth and The Arts.

Since 1952, the Memphis Chapter has made major contributions to the Memphis community through the enrichment of the lives of women and girls, increased access to higher education, support of general education, presentations of the arts, and financial contributions through grants to local 501-c-3 organizations. Over the years while our service delivery model has varied, our goals and objectives have remained consistent. In December 2008, we celebrated our 20th year of presenting Debutantes to the Memphis community at our Annual Holiday Cotillion. We also implemented ArtLinks, a new after school arts program offering drama, music, and painting at an inner-city middle school. In the area of international trends, we partnered with the National Dental Association and provided equipment to ensure safe, sanitary dental care to children in Africa. We are extremely proud of our new partnership with the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA). This partnership includes the transformation of the Thrift Store into a “boutique-like” atmosphere.

We stand ready to support the goals and objectives of The Links, Incorporate and to serve our community. We invite to browse our website to learn more about our chapter programs and events.

Sincerely,
Jozelle Luster Booker
President 2008 - 2010
